What is Digital Poetry: Introduction and How to create one of your own, an easy tutorial
Poetry has always been a very strong tool for the artists, as well
the normal people, novice too, to dump it all they feel, with the medium of
their words.
It is not really a difficult thing to do, only it takes is one’s
soul and heart.
Like the old times, even today, a diary and a pen can make you
feel much better than hanging out with the people around you, who are, most of
the time just being pretentious, and not real.
Poetry makes you feel good; it is one thing where you can be true
to yourself and years later, when you read it again, you can still relive those
moments. Better idea than just clicking photographs? I know right!
So what do you do when you feel happy? Write. What do you do when
you are almost suicidal? You write (you won’t feel that urge anymore.); and
most importantly, what do you do when you
have no friends or nobody to listen you? Write.
Well, here I would like to bring a point: unlike the old times,
today, poetry is not only about a pen and a paper, there is much more to it
now. Reading online, I came across a term “digital poetry”. I googled it, and
here is what Wikipedia has to say about it:
“Digital poetry is a form of electronic literature, displaying a wide range of approaches to poetry, with a prominent and crucial use of computers. Digital poetry can be available in form of CD-ROM, DVD, as installations in art galleries, in certain cases also recorded as digital video or films, as digital holograms, on the World Wide Web or Internet, and as mobile phone apps.”
This is obviously not just this, it
is something much beyond. It can be in any digital form, but I personally found
the one, which requires a decent amount of coding and algorithm, very cool (at the end of this post, I'm mentioning some links to the digital poems, please do visit them). Not
being from the technical background, I can’t really go into the depth of it,
but still, I’ll try to learn it and explore more about it.
Now, the easiest and most hassle-free way, that I figured out, of “how to” do digital poetry of your own is with the help of one of Adobe’s amazing soft wares called Adobe Spark (it is a suite of mobile
and web tools that lets anyone create visual content). There are many
more soft wares available, but this is the one I will ever prefer and trust more
than the rest. Cheers, Adobe! ;D
This was very basic and easiest way to start doing digital poetry,
initially. For people belonging to the creative filed of arts and poetry, it
has never been easy to learn coding and algorithmic solutions, hence this.
If you guys have any suggestion or feedback regarding this topic
and post, please let me know in the comments section below; or you can write to
me too. You can also share your poems, write-ups or any other creative work
with me, I’ll be glad to read it and also publish and share it on my blog :)
There's a lot more to come. Till then, stay tuned!
